Skinner joins AMI

Air Menzies International (AMI) – the trade-only airfreight wholesaler – has appointed Mark Skinner to the new post of vice president finance & commercial development. A chartered accountant, Skinner began his career with Ernst & Young, followed by ten years in a variety of commercially-focused finance roles with BT PLC and Pentland Brands (owner of Speedo, Berghaus and Mitre).

Reporting to AMI senior vice president Peter Weir, Skinner is responsible for all aspects of AMI’s global financial operations, managing a team of four regional financial controllers and their 26 staff located across AMI’s 20 bases in Europe, the USA, South Africa, the Far East and Australasia.

He will additionally provide financial focus and guidance for AMI’s continuing global expansion plans.

Weir said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark to the AMI team. His experience with large-scale financial operations within major brands will be invaluable as we take AMI forward to become a truly global player.”
