China sees mail and express sector growth

China’s postal services market and express operators generated operating revenue of more than 72bn Yuan during the first seven months of 2010. Citing statistics published by the State Post Bureau, Yicai reported that the statistics show a 19% growth, year-on-year, in the country.

In July alone, revenue was up 12.8% on 2009 levels, at just over 9.5bn Yuan.

Shipping volumes for the period stood at 1.23bn, which equates to a growth of almost 24% year-on-year, whilst express delivery shipping volume in July grew almost 19% to 190m.
