FedEx cuts 222 jobs in Ohio

FedEx has said it will shed 222 US-based jobs in January. The redundancies will follow the closure of one of the company’s shipping terminals, located in south-west Ohio.

Ann Saccomano, a FedEx spokesperson, said that the business will shut down its National LTL facility in West Chester on 29 January.

The move forms part of FedEx’s integration of its short haul and long haul freight pick-up and delivery networks.

She added that service will continue as normal, and that some employees could be relocated within the FedEx network.
