FedEx: helping customers simplify and scale critical healthcare shipments

FedEx Europe has launched a new online portal that enables pharmaceutical and life sciences companies to book and manage temperature-controlled shipments through a streamlined digital experience. The platform, available in 26 markets across Europe*, provides customers with easy access to the company's FedEx® Temp-Assure Advantage solution and is being introduced ahead of the year-end Peak shipping season, helping customers prepare for increased demand and manage control over critical healthcare shipments.

The portal is part of a wider suite of digital tools that simplifies what has traditionally been a complex and manual process, allowing customers to onboard, order pre-conditioned packaging, schedule shipments and manage returns. Designed for pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies and clinical trial operators, it provides greater convenience and control over temperature-sensitive shipments.

The digital portal gives customers access to FedEx® Temp-Assure Advantage, a temperature-controlled shipping solution designed to support the rigorous requirements of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. As demand grows for biologics, specialty medicines and vaccines, maintaining strict temperature control is critical to ensuring product efficacy and patient safety.

FedEx® Temp-Assure Advantage combines qualified packaging, tested in the FedEx Packaging lab, with the company’s integrated European transportation network to help maintain temperature integrity from origin to destination. The solution supports frozen (-25°C to -15°C), refrigerated (2°C to 8°C) and controlled room temperature (15°C to 25°C) shipments. Advanced vacuum-insulated packaging and phase-change materials help maintain required temperatures for more than 96 hours, while CEIV Pharma-certified facilities and standardized processes provide enhanced control, visibility and compliance throughout transit.

FedEx® Temp-Assure Advantage also incorporates a reusable packaging model, with containers collected, refurbished and redeployed to help reduce waste while maintaining high-performance standards.

As pharmaceutical supply chains become more global and increasingly focused on high-value, temperature-sensitive therapies, healthcare companies need logistics partners that can combine reliability, compliance and ease of access,”; said Toby Hay, managing director international marketing at FedEx Europe. “This new portal represents an important step in simplifying access to specialized temperature-controlled capabilities, helping customers manage critical shipments more efficiently and with greater confidence, particularly as they prepare for the increased demands of the year-end Peak season.”

*The online portal is currently available for intra-European and domestic services in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden Spain, Switzerland, for non-freight shipments.
