Pos Malaysia: our focus is firmly on the future

Pos Malaysia Berhad marked World Post Day 2026 with the showcase of Malaysia’s first electric three-wheeler for last-mile delivery.

Pos Malaysia Berhad marked World Post Day 2026 last week by launching a special stamp and the showcase of Malaysia’s first electric three-wheeler for last-mile delivery, bringing together the company’s postal heritage and its drive to build a more modern and sustainable delivery network.

Held under the theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities”, the celebration highlighted the vital role of power of postal networks in creating opportunities, promoting inclusion and connecting people, businesses and communities across borders. The programme featured the launch of the World Post Day 2026 special stamp, The Wira Award 2026, the KESEF 2026 Stamp Folio Competition winner’s prize presentation and showcase, and the introduction of the electric three-wheeler as a future addition to Pos Malaysia’s last-mile operations, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

The celebration was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, together with Datuk Imri Mokhtar, Board Member of Pos Malaysia; as well as representatives from government agencies, industry partners and Pos Malaysia’s senior leadership team. The programme recognised service excellence among Pos Malaysia employees and celebrated creativity in philately, alongside the stamp launch and the showcase of the electric three-wheeler designed to improve safety, increase parcel-carrying capacity and support zero-tailpipe-emission deliveries in dense urban areas. Together, these activities reflected Pos Malaysia’s transformation from a traditional postal operator into an integrated logistics and delivery solutions provider supporting a rapidly evolving economy.

 Delivering connections, improving lives

For more than 200 years, Pos Malaysia has connected Malaysians through a trusted nationwide network. Today, our unmatched last-mile reach extends to more than 11 million addresses nationwide, supported by a network of over 3,000 touchpoints connecting people and businesses from Perlis to Sabah and Sarawak. Building on this strong foundation, the company is transforming into a parcel-led, digitally enabled logistics and services group, leveraging data, AI and network modernisation to improve efficiency, reliability and customer experience. This transformation is delivering measurable results across the business, strengthening service performance, customer satisfaction and nationwide connectivity.

  • Next-day parcel delivery performance now exceeds 92%, reaching record highs and surpassing the industry average of 82%.
  • Mail service levels have improved to 95% on-time delivery nationwide.
  • Reliability as tracked by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has reached 91%, reflecting stronger network performance and operational discipline.
  • Pos Malaysia remains the only logistics provider operating two dedicated aircraft serving Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity across East Malaysia.

Customer satisfaction has increased significantly, with Net Promoter Scores rising from 32.0 to 99.6 for retail services and from 56.7 to 87.1 for delivery services to date.

The theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities” captures this transformation. It recognises the strength of a unified postal network and the countless opportunities it creates for individuals, businesses and communities. From facilitating cross-border trade and enabling e-commerce growth to supporting sustainable logistics and ensuring essential services reach every Malaysian, postal networks continue to unlock new possibilities in an increasingly connected world.

“World Post Day is an opportunity to celebrate the vital role postal services continue to play in connecting people and businesses. While our heritage spans more than 200 years, our focus is firmly on the future. From digital solutions and expanded logistics capabilities to sustainable delivery innovations such as electric vehicles, we are continuously transforming how we serve Malaysians.

“This year’s theme, ‘One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities’, reflects exactly what we are building at Pos Malaysia today, a postal network that continues to evolve, create value and unlock new opportunities for the communities and businesses we serve,” said Datuk Imri Mokhtar.

Celebrating World Post Day through philately

A key highlight of the celebration was the launch of the World Post Day 2026 special stamp, which pays tribute to the enduring importance of postal services and their continued evolution in a changing world.

Inspired by this year’s theme, the stamp design celebrates the strength of a connected postal network and the many possibilities it creates for people, businesses and communities. It also reflects Pos Malaysia’s ongoing journey of transformation, balancing its rich heritage with innovation and progress.

 The stamp issue comprises:

  • World Post Day 2026 stamp (Denomination: RM1.30)
  • First Day Cover with Stamp (RM1.80)
  • Folder (RM7.00)

The World Post Day 2026 collection, priced at RM34.80, is available from 9 October 2026 onwards at 90 Philatelic Bureaus nationwide, including 13 General Post Offices, as well as selected post offices and the Pos Malaysia online store, while stocks last.

Recognising those who deliver every day and inspiring the next generation of philatelists

The celebration also recognised achievement within and beyond Pos Malaysia. The Wira Award 2026 honoured outstanding employees across the Best Postman, Best Courier, Best Retail and Best Customer Service categories for their dedication and service to help keep Malaysians connected every day.

Meanwhile, the KESEF 2026 Stamp Folio Competition winner’s prize presentation and showcase celebrated five overall category winners across Sekolah Rendah Tahap 2 (Year 4-6) at SK Kg Baharu Lanjut Sepang, Sekolah Menengah Rendah (Form 1-3) at SMK Tanjong Bunga Kelantan, Sekolah Menengah Atas (Form 4-5) at SM Sains Kuala Selangor, Pra Universiti (Form 6) at SMK Dato Ahmad Maher Kelantan and Guru at SK Kg Baharu Lanjut Selangor categories. Held under the theme “Rentasan budaya, cerita Malaysia melalui setem”, the competition encouraged appreciation of stamps as a medium for storytelling, learning and cultural expression. The full list of winners is provided in the Appendix below.

Building a more sustainable delivery network

As part of the World Post Day celebration, Pos Malaysia showcased Malaysia’s first electric three-wheeler for last-mile delivery, marking a significant milestone in the company’s transformation and sustainability journey.  Pos Malaysia plans to deploy the vehicles progressively within its last-mile operations, pending the necessary regulatory approvals.

The electric three-wheeler complements Pos Malaysia’s existing fleet of electric vans and electric motorcycles, creating a more versatile and efficient delivery ecosystem. Today, one in every three Pos Malaysia parcels is delivered using an electric vehicle, demonstrating the scale and impact of the company’s ongoing fleet electrification efforts. Once deployed, the electric three-wheeler will demonstrate how innovation can be applied to address evolving customer expectations while advancing sustainability goals and improving operational efficiency.
