Austria's postal service to be split into five divisions

Osterreichische Post AG, the Austrian postal service company, is to bow to market demands, and divide itself into five divisions. The new structure will allow greater flexibility and clear responsibility for profit. In the first half of the year, results had gone according to plan.

Turnover had grown from Sch10.2bn to Sch10.4bn, while profit on ordinary activity stood at Sch356m, compared with a loss of Sch14.3m previously. Ebit improved from a loss of Sch138m to a profit of Sch204m. Abstracted from Die Presse Abstracted from Die Presse in German FT McCarthy – Copyright 2001 Financial Times Information.
