Russian Post delays price increase

Russian Post is to delay an increase in postal tariffs until the New Year. The operator decided against a rise this month to avoid disruption during the holiday season.

New pricing could come into place in January.

Russian Post’s general director, Alexander Kiselyov, said: “Mail of Russia as a company, has an important social role that connects people and provides an opportunity to communicate regardless of their location.

“The management [has] decided to postpone the entry into force of the new rates [until] January 2011.”
