UPS pushes iPhone App into Europe and Canada
UPS has expanded the availability of the UPS Mobile App to iPhone customers in Germany France Italy, Canada and the UK. The App, which has already proven popular with customers in the US, will enable users to ship and track packages, as well as locate their nearest UPS location from their handset.
The move follows an international deployment of the UPS Mobile App for the Blackberry and the Android, as well as the launch of the company’s mobile site – m.ups.com.
UPS has reported that the UPS Mobile App has been downloaded almost 2m times.
Jordan Colletta, vice president of customer technology marketing at UPS, said: “The expansion of our UPS Mobile App for iPhone is the latest in a series of initiatives to bring the power and convenience of UPS mobile technology to more customers on more devices in more markets across the globe.
“Extending our mobile offerings makes logistics even easier for our customers.”
Users of the UPS Mobile Apps can track shipments, create shipments using their My UPS address book and calculate shipping rates and time-in-transit.
Tracking history is automatically refreshed, when people are using the App. UPS tracking numbers also can be nicknamed for quick reference.
Shipping labels can also be created for document and non-document shipments worldwide, before being made available for e-mail in a PDF format.
The UPS Mobile App for iPhone is currently ranked among the Top Five Free Business Apps, UPS said.
