Bresnahan takes up new role at DHL
DHL has appointed Chris Bresnahan to head of network operations for its Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions. He will oversee DHL’s aviation network spanning 131 countries, six regional hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Muharraq, Lagos and Dubai and 154 gateways.
Bresnahan will be based in Singapore, and reports to CEO of DHL Express Roger Crook.
Crook said: “Chris’ strong and in-depth knowledge of and experience in network operations will bring great value to our business in the region as well as corporately as he has also been appointed to the board.”
After joining DHL Express Australia in 1992, working in Air Operations, Bresnahan spent time at DHL’s hub in Hong Kong, before becoming managing director of Hubs & Gateways of DHL Express Europe in 2007.
Bresnahan said: “It’s an exciting time to return to the region as DHL continues to invest in developing state-of-the-art facilities in the region such as the ongoing development of our North Asia Hub in Pudong due to open next year, and new gateways in Oman and Casablanca underway.
“With significant infrastructural assets in the region, DHL’s continued investment in operations provides the backbone DHL Express needs to ensure our service excellence, taking advantage of the continued growth of intra-regional trade to extend our market-leading position across the rapidly emerging markets Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.”
