Correos y Telegrafos looks to courier sector

CORREOS Y TELEGRAFOS LOOKS TO COURIER SECTOR (CORREOS Y TELEGRAFOS : INTERES EN CRECER EN PAQUETERIA URGENTE)

Correos y Telegrafos, the Spanish postal service, is considering a possible purchase of a courier company with the aim of gaining market share in the sector. Correos recently launched courier subsidiary Chronoexpress and group chairman Alberto Nunez announced yesterday that French counterpart La Poste is to take a minority stake in the new venture.

The aim of the operation will be to further the group’s strategy to diversify in order to boost revenue.
