TNT Express seals sponsorship deal with UAE Olympic Committee

TNT Express has been named as official logistics supplier for the UAE National Olympic Committee for a three-year period. The first such agreement for the United Arab Emirates NOC, it will see TNT fulfilling the organisation’s freight and logistics, as well as providing promotional opportunities.

It will see TNT flying the UAE Olympic flag on company delivery vehicles and courier satchels, as well as enjoying exposure through UAE Olympic Committee activities.

The timing of the agreement means it will lead up to the next Pan Arab Games and through the 2012 Olympic Games being held in London.

Bryan Moulds, managing director for TNT Middle East, said the sponsorship recognised the “community and commercial synergies woven into the Olympic movement”.

He said: “The Olympic spirit carries many strong messages – drive, passion and an unwavering commitment to your goals – messages that align with the strategies and goals of TNT.”

The TNT regional MD said the link-up with the UAE NOC also allowed his company to “put something back in” for the long history it has had with the UAE, in terms of supporting the development of current and future UAE athletes.

Saeed Abdul Ghaffer Hussein, secretary general of the UAE NOC, said: “This is the beginning of an integral relationship which will play a significant role in the NOC achieving its ongoing strategic goals, from spreading the Olympic message to our children through to the ongoing performance development of our representative athletes.”
