TPG's PTT Post to change name to TPG Post

AMSTERDAM (AFX) – TPG NV said it will change the name of its mail division Royal PTT Post to Royal TPG Post.

A gradual introduction of the new name is planned for the spring. The company will continue to use the name TNT for its express activities.

“TPG Post will profit from the increasing recognition and reputation

of the TPG name,” said Harry Koorstra, TPG board member for the mail division.

“In many countries, the abbreviation PTT still carries a lot of historical associations — government enterprise, bureaucratic, etc. These associations are at odds with the modern, innovative postal company we are today. In addition, the use of the abbreviation PTT in other countries in Europe can cause some confusion with the local postal company.”
