Frans Maas move into Italy

The Dutch transport company Royal Frans Maas Group has acquired the logistics and shipping activities of Cargo Services S.r.l in Fidenza, in central Italy. (1/10/2002)
The parties involved did not want to disclose at which price the activities were taken over. Frans Maas is only willing to state the annual turnover of Cargo Service, which is € 20 million.
By taking over its Italian peer, the Dutch transport company has acquired itself a logistic infrastructure in central Italy, and 25,700 square meters storage facilities.
The Italian-based Cargo Services also has branch offices in Germany, France and Spain. One of the Cargo Service customers is glass products manufacturer Bormioli SPA. Anticipating on the takeover, Frans Maas acquired a trial order from Bormioli. The Dutch provided Bormioli logistic services from June 2000 till December 2001 successfully.
