CitySprint acquires Network Logistics UK

CitySprint acquires Network Logistics UK

CitySprint today announces that it has acquired Network Logistics UK, the Birmingham-based firm that specialises in same day logistics, marking the company’s third acquisition in six months. Founded in 2004, Network Logistics UK was built up by current directors Craig Guthrie, David Costin and Paul Ryder to become an established courier service within the West Midlands. CitySprint has now acquired all of Network Logistics UK SameDay, Overnight and International Operations, which includes a local and national customer base. Network Executive Chauffeurs Ltd, which was associated with Network Logistics UK will remain an independent company.

This acquisition will support CitySprint’s expansion in mainland UK, providing Network Logistics UK’s customers with access to CitySprint’s 2,500 couriers and network of 37 UK service centres. In addition, CitySprint has invested in a live courier-tracking system with automated status notifications and booking app called MyCourier.

Patrick Gallagher, Chief Executive of CitySprint, said: “This deal marks yet another important step forward in our growth strategy and will help us expand our reach and offering for our customers. This latest acquisition, combined with our strong organic growth, helps consolidate our position as the UK’s leading private same day distribution company.”

Craig Guthrie, Director of Network Logistics UK, added: “We are delighted to join our services with CitySprint who share our dedication and focus on customer service alongside providing the complete courier transport solution. We’ll be working together to ensure that the integration process is seamless. The contacts and numbers will remain the same, and for our customers it will be ‘business as usual’.”

Network Logistics UK’s employees will transfer to CitySprint, and the local contact details will remain the same.
