Yodel fleet delivers the Friends Life Tour of Britain

Yodel, the official logistics partner and YodelDirect sprints sponsor of the Friends Life Tour of Britain has today unveiled its branded fleet for the Tour, which starts on 7 September in Liverpool and finishes in London on 14 September. As logistics partner to the UK’s biggest professional cycle race, Yodel will be responsible for transporting the Tour’s equipment around the country.  With the event running for eight consecutive days and covering over 1,300 km of the UK, Yodel has deployed and branded one trailer and 16 vans as support.  These will be used to deliver staging, safety equipment, spectator barriers and most important of all, the finishing line gantry, as well as the teams’ equipment to each of the Tour’s stages.

In addition, YodelDirect branded cars will assist the riders, who include Sir Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish and Marcel Kittel, as they race.

Commenting on Yodel’s role, Yodel’s executive chairman, Dick Stead said; “We’re excited to be taking our vibrant YodelDirect brand on the road and helping to deliver an event which reflects our business priorities of teamwork, speed and efficiency.  Each year the Tour attracts more roadside spectators and television viewers and this year looks set to be more exciting than ever.”

The 2014 Friends Life Tour of Britain marks the fifth year that the UK’s biggest professional cycle race is sponsored by Yodel, the UK parcel carrier. The company launched its YodelDirect service last year, enabling consumers and small businesses to ship parcels with Yodel.
