APE launches next-day service to Malaga

Asia Pacific Express (APE) last week launched a direct next-day service to Malaga following its acquisition last month of fellow wholesaler Spanish Courier.
The morning flight to Malaga allows afternoon deliveries in Gibraltar. Spanish Courier was already offering morning flights to Barcelona and Madrid.
APE first became involved with the Iberian market when it took over IXC earlier this year.
Paul Holley, MD of APE, celebrated his expanded service with a four-day special offer giving the first kilo free, and reported a big increase in traffic.
“Last year it was all gloom and doom, but this year has been very hectic, ” said Holley. He said shipments were 35% higher year-on-year.
The company plans a threefold increase in office space and said it may open Far East and new US offices later this year.
