UPS expands door-to-door air express service

UPS has expanded its guaranteed door-to-door air freight service for urgent, time-sensitive and high-value heavyweight items, to 12 new origin and nine new destination countries.
The company’s UPS Worldwide Express Freight service is now provided delivering to 51 destination countries and territories from 50 origin countries.

The Atlanta-based shipping giant said yesterday that new countries added as origin points for the service include Chile, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Turkey and Vietnam.

Destinations added to the service include Chile, Indonesia, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Vietnam.

The service for palletized shipments over 70kg is door-to-door and day-definite, with customs brokerage included. It also features automated shipment preparation, online tracking and notifications.

UPS said Saturday deliveries are available for US and Canadian post codes.

Nick Basford, UPS vice president of international marketing, said: “UPS can help make growing internationally easier with solutions like this urgent air freight offering.

“Worldwide Express Freight helps customers get everything, from parts to finished goods, to more destinations fast, enabling businesses of all sizes to better compete on a global scale.”

UPS said the Worldwide Express Freight service was particularly suitable for product launches, inventory shortages or replacement parts.

For shipments originating from Asia-Pacific, delivery can be as fast as overnight to cities within Asia and just three days to Europe and the Americas, the firm said.
