KarstadtQuelle interested in Consignia's German Parcel unit

KarstadtQuelle is interested in Consignia Plc’s German Parcel unit, which the UK mail service aims to divest in the light of continuing losses, Die Welt reported, citing industry sources.

KarstadtQuelle wants to buy the unit so it will no longer be dependent on Deutsche Post World Net AG for the shipping of its 100 mln packages per year.

Die Welt reported that TPG NV is also interested in German Parcel.

German Parcel declined to comment on the report.
