Dicom Transportation buys Courier Express Enterprises
Montreal-based Dicom Transportation Group now has last mile capabilities in the eastern United States through its acquisition of Courier Express Enterprises (CXP).
A statement published yesterday (4 August) by Dicon’s parent company Wind Point Partners said: “CXP utilizes a vast network of over 1,000 dedicated delivery providers to handle customer shipments in a 10-state service area that ranges from Maine to Virginia. CXP was founded in 1999 by Michael Williams, who has grown the company into one of the East Coast’s premier providers of last mile logistics solutions. CXP will be aligned with the Express division of Dicom Transportation Group.”
Konrad Salaber, a principal at Wind Point, commented: “The acquisition of CXP more than doubles our dedicated last mile carrier base in the U.S. and provides Dicom with substantial scale in a very attractive region of the U.S. Moreover, CXP is an important complement to our recent acquisitions in the Midwest, West Coast, and Southern U.S. and underscores Dicom’s continuing emergence as a continental logistics services provider.”
Dicom is engaged in an acquisition programme which focuses on courier, LTL and transportation providers in Quebec, Ontario and the United States. The company is also looking at 3PL providers who manage transportation, logistics and supply chain functions for businesses in Canada, the US and Mexico.
