UberEATS comes to San Francisco

UberEATS comes to San Francisco

Uber is launching its food delivery service, UberEATS, in San Francisco. The ride-hailing company held a launch event in the Californian city last night (17 August). Sources report that UberEATS is offering a ten-minute delivery service and its initial launch coverage is limited to city’s Financial District and South of Market (SOMA) area, with plans to expand later.

UberEATS is now up and running in six cities. Besides San Francisco, it is also available in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, as well as Barcelona in Spain and Toronto in Canada.

Industry watchers say that the expansion of the UberEATS model is an indication of just how seriously Uber takes the delivery sector. As the food business grows, they expect to see a significant push on the parcel and goods delivery business too.
