Austrian Post plans national roll-out for Saturday parcel delivery service

Austrian Post has informed Post&Parcel that it plans to roll out its six-day parcel delivery service to urban districts across Austria by the end of the year. The postal operator started trialing Saturday deliveries in six selected areas in July, and it said that it has received “extremely positive feedback” from both senders and receivers – prompting the decision to go national.

A spokesperson for Austrian Post told Post&Parcel that the roll-out is focused providing Saturday deliveries in the urban districts, not rural areas -and it is for parcels, not letters.

Meanwhile, Austrian Post also reported today that its new food delivery operation – which it launched in April in association with UNIMARKT – is available across Austria.
