Postmates launches in 10 new cities

On-demand delivery company Postmates announced yesterday (17 September) that it has launched its service in 10 new cities, raising the total number of US metropolitan markets served to 40. The new cities which joined the Postmates network yesterday are: Baltimore, Columbus, Jersey City, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Palm Springs, Pittsburgh, Raleigh and St. Louis.

As previously reported, Postmates also announced a new delivery service for drugstore Walgreens earlier this week.

In an interview posted on the re/code website yesterday, Postmates CEO Bastian Lehmann said that while the company has been expanding its service in the US, there are no immediate plans to go international.

“When I came here from Europe I thought it would be great to take the product you built here to Europe fast,” said Lehmann. “But now my most recent thinking is that we should concentrate on North America.”
