GrubMarket grabs $10m funding

Farmers’ market food delivery specialist GrubMarket has announced that it has closed a $10m series A funding round. The funding was led by Fosun Group, with Y-Combinator, Battery Ventures, GGV and AME Cloud Ventures also taking part.

In a post on its blog on Friday (18 September), GrubMarket said that the funding will “assist us in providing our San Francisco Bay Area and Nationwide customers with an even better shopping experience”.

GrubHub claims to bring food from the local organic farmers’ market directly to the door of its customers – in contrast to companies like GoodEgg, which operate warehousing and processing centres as an intermediary stage.
