Magyar Posta testing electric delivery vehicles

Magyar Posta testing electric delivery vehicles

Hungary’s Magya Posta is currently testing a number of electric vehicles to judge their suitability for delivering package in urban areas. According to a report from Hungarian news agency MTI, the tests began in August and will run through to January.

The vehicles being put through their paces include vans from Citroen, Nissan, Volkswagen, Kia and Renault and an electric scooter made by Govecs.

Magyar Posta’s chief executive Zsolt Szarka was quoted as saying that the company is “looking for cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions for logistical work and package delivery”. He added that the vehicles may be particularly suited to operating in “the more densely populated areas”.
