On demand delivery company launches in Nigeria

Metro Africa Express (MAX.ng) has launched an on-demand delivery service in Nigeria. The founder of the Lagos-based company, Adetayo Bamiduro and Chinedu Azodoh, have told local media that their aim is “to pick up and deliver products to customers within 3 hours”.

The firm currently provides express deliveries within the Lagos area, but Bamiduro has said that MAX.ng’s “vision is to cover 50 cities in Africa”.

“Logistics businesses are typically asset heavy, with low barriers to entry and small operating margins. MAX will break convention by operating a highly scalable CAPEX light model with fair margins,” added Azodoh.

The deliveries are made by “champions” using motorbikes.  On its website, the company advertises Same Day, Next Day and “Instant” (Three-hour) services.
