Amazon has announced today that its “Pantry” service is now available to Amazon Prime members in Germany and Austria. Prime members can order from “a wide range of thousands of popular household items” – including foods such as UHT milk, cereals, snacks and canned goods. There is a shipping fee of €4.99 per “Pantry box” (with a capacity up to 20kg) and the delivery will be made within two-three days in Germany and two-four days in Austria.

As previously reported,  Amazon announced the launch of its new “Epicerie” (Grocery) service in France on 23 September, and it has also started offering services in Spain.

There have been reports that Amazon may start offering its Amazon Fresh service in Munich, although there has been no official word on this. Amazon Fresh is a same-day food and grocery delivery service, which is up and running in some US cities.
