Austrian Post: The cooperation with Amazon is important for us

Austrian Post and Amazon are further expanding their partnership: Amazon customers can now have their parcels delivered to over 1,600 post stations.

The extended integration offers numerous advantages: Customers can pick up their parcels around the clock – according to their individual schedule. Whether on the way home from work, shopping or at any other desired location: the post offices are accessible at all times and offer maximum flexibility in everyday life.

When ordering on Amazon, customers can still select the desired post office as their delivery address directly in the checkout. The Austria-wide network now comprises over 1,600 post stations with around 190,000 compartments. A further expansion of around 150 new post stations is planned for 2026.

Direct delivery to post stations makes the last mile more efficient and resource-efficient – an advantage for senders, recipients and the environment.

Peter Umundum, Deputy Director General and Member of the Management Board for Parcel & Logistics at Austrian Post: “The cooperation with Amazon is important for us to offer our customers even more convenience. With our nationwide network of post stations, we guarantee reliable and flexible delivery – around the clock. This clear customer promise sets us apart from the competition and strengthens our position as a leading logistics partner in Austria.”

Yorck von Mirbach, Amazon Austria Country Lead: “By integrating the post offices directly into the ordering process on Amazon, we are offering our customers an even more flexible and convenient delivery option. The ability to pick up parcels around the clock at a location of their choice increases convenience while supporting resource-saving logistics. Together with Austrian Post, we are driving innovation to make the last mile more efficient and customer-oriented.”
