UberEATS launching in Seattle

UberEATS launching in Seattle

Uber is set to launch its on-demand meal delivery service UberEATS in Seattle tomorrow (7 October). The UberEATS  website has a number of options on the menu for the launch day tomorrow from its restaurant partners in Seattle, including Paseo’s Caribbean Roast Sandwich, Trio of Salads from the Volunteer Park Café, and Monsoon’s Gà Say Rượu.

UberEATS drivers will be delivering on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in six Seattle neighborhoods: Downtown, Pioneer Square, Belltown, Lower Queen Anne, South Lake Union and Capitol Hill.

As previously reported, UberEATS launched in San Francisco in August, and it is also available in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, as well as Barcelona in Spain and Toronto in Canada.

High-tech news website GeekWire has been scanning job listings – from which it deduced (or guessed) that UberEATS may be planning to start up in at least five additional cities including San Diego, Phoenix, Nashville, Philadelphia and Miami.

UberEATS decision to come to Seattle is an interesting one. Amazon chose this city (its home town) as the launch pad for its own new meal delivery service – Amazon Restaurants. The service is available to Prime Now customers and restaurants working with the Amazon service include Cactus, Wild Ginger, Skillet, Marination Station, Re:public, Café Yumm!, Ten Mercer and Mamnoon.
