Waitrose opens new e-commerce fulfilment centre

Waitrose has formally opened its new e-commerce fulfilment centre in Coulsdon. When at full capacity, the new centre, which extends over seven acres in Ullswater Crescent, will fulfil 20,000 orders a week for Waitrose customers living within the M25.  It will allow the supermarket to build its online capacity within the capital by a third.

The facility, which began operating earlier this year, will employ about 800 people when it is at  full capacity.

The new centre was formally opened last week by Anna Soubry, the UK Minister for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise.
