Sainsbury’s reports continuing growth in online grocery sales

Sainsbury’s has reported that it has seen a 7% growth in online grocery sales, and orders are up nearly 14%.
The retail company, which today (11 November) presented its interim results for the 28 weeks to 26 September 2015, reported that – in contrast to the online growth – “sales at supermarkets declined just over 2% driven by food deflation, lower like-for-like volumes and customers shopping across multiple channels”.

Sainsbury’s is also seeing growth in click and collect: the company had 52 click and collect sites for grocery by the end of the half, and said it was on track to have 100 by the end of this year.
