D.E.S. launches Interconnect-ready PostPort solution for transparency on untracked mail

Direct Entry Solutions (D.E.S.), the international mail and parcel delivery specialist, has launched a new version of its PostPort mail solution, in readiness for the Interconnect programme. PostPort enables wholesalers to monitor where their mailings are in the distribution process.

The system provides a mail visibility platform on priority, non-priority and customised untracked mail for printers, mailing houses, fulfilment centres, mail consolidators and post rooms. Wholesalers can see when their mail reaches key points in its journey, such as entering the postal system of the destination country.

PostPort enables customers multiple-user access to compile, print and archive detailed consignment information without the physical paperwork and repetition usual when distributing mailings.

D.E.S has announced today (4 January) that PostPort has now been aligned to the new Interconnect formats and operations procedures allowing customers that choose to use the mail solution, to benefit from Interconnect’s boxable format for posting heavyweight catalogues and publications and sending ecommerce goods up to 30mm in thickness.

Phil Coleman, Chief Executive of D.E.S., commented: “We constantly strive to give our customers the latest and best mail and parcel products. PostPort now gives our wholesale customers control over their mailings through traceability and makes available Interconnect’s prized format benefits that will deliver to customers cost savings and efficiencies.

“Looking to the future, PostPort can also adapt quickly to Interconnect’s future format changes and can easily switch formats as new countries join Interconnect.”

PostPort has increased its functionality further with auto invoicing and online reporting now available to customers. Invoices can now be automatically sent out on a weekly basis, by email, to the agreed contact. In addition to the invoices, a report of the services billed is available on PostPort for customers to view and download.

PostPort is just one of a number of new services recently introduced by D.E.S.. Since forming the partnership with Austrian Post earlier this year, D.E.S. has expanded its portfolio of value-added products and services.
