Poșta Română to spend €17m on IT and telecoms equipment

Poșta Română has announced that it plans to spend around €17m on modernising its IT and telecommunications systems this year. In a notice published on its website on 29 December, Poșta Română said that on 8 February it will invite contractors to submit bids for providing IT equipment and virtual private network (VPN) solutions worth €13m, and on the following day it will invite bids to supply €3.8m worth of telecoms equipment.

Alexandru Petrescu, the Director General of Poșta Română, said the investment was “essential” for the company’s development plans and will double the number of post offices equipped with a VPN connection, up from 1,000 to 2,000.
