Sainsbury’s reportedly set to make an improved bid for Home Retail Group

Sainsbury’s is looking to make a new, improved offer for Home Retail Group, the owner of Argos and Homebase, according to media reports. As previously reported by Post&Parcel, Sainsbury’s confirmed on 5 January that it had received a rejection for its initial offer for the group at the end of last year.

Media reports indicate that Sainsbury’s could be making a new offer this week, and it may be in the region of £1.2bn.

As previously reported, the Argos home delivery network is one of the key attractions of the deal for Sainsbury’s.
