Expresso Aracatuba' Turnover Increases 13.5%
The Brazilian cargo transportation company Expresso Aracatuba, based in Sao Paulo, will register an increase of 13.5% in net turnover in 2002, reaching R$118million. In 2001 its net income reached R$104mil. The net result of the whole group, including Exata Logistica and Golden Cargo companies, will reach R$170mil this year, an expansion of 17% in comparison to 2001. The company aims to grow by 12% in its net results for 2003. 15% out of Expresso Aracatuba’s 2002 overall turnover came from its autoparts sector. The cargo transportation company plans to forge partnerships. Over the past year and a half, it acquired Golden Cargo to focus on risk products transportation. The company has partnerships with FedEx Express, FedEx Corporation subsidiary, Brazilian cargo transportation Expresso Mercurio and Rapidao Cometa. Over the past four years, Expresso Aracatuba invested R$12mil in its infrastructure, through the erection of Goiania and Manaus terminals. For its fleet renewal, the group earmarked R$7mil over the past two years. Expresso Aracatuba started operations in 1952 in Aracatuca city (Sao Paulo state). The company, which operated only in Sao Paulo, had expanded its activities to Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goias, Rondonia, Amazonas, Roraima, Acre and Brasilia states. Besides domestic market, it currently operates in all South American countries. It owns 42 branches, 12 shipping companies, 30 distributors and a fleet of 630 vehicles.
