UberEATS coming to Australia

UberEATS coming to Australia

Uber is set to launch its food delivery service, UberEATs, in the Australian city of Melbourne. The crowdsourced ride hailing and delivery company has posted a teaser about its plans for Melbourne on its UberEATS website, and local sources report that the food delivery service is set to start in March.

The timing of the launch is interesting. As previously reported by Post&Parcel, the Australian start-up delivery company Zoom2U announced yesterday (25 February) that it had teamed up with online takeaway platform Menulog to launch a restaurant meal delivery service in Sydney.

Zoom2U currently provides a package delivery service in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide as well as Sydney.  So if Zoom2U decides to extend its relationship with Menulog beyond Sydney, it could be battling with Uber over the Melbourne meals on wheels market.
