Amazon’s Christopher North leaving to join Shutterfly

Amazon UK Managing Director Christopher North will be joining US-based digital photo company Shutterfly as president and chief executive officer on 31 May. North has worked for Amazon since 2006, serving as the UK managing director since 2011.

Prior to his time at Amazon, North held senior leadership roles with Phaidon Press and HarperCollins Publishers. He also served as a media and entertainment consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton.

An alumnus of Harvard and New York University, North and his family will be relocating from London to the Bay Area in the coming months.

In a statement issued by Shutterfly yesterday (17 March), Phil Marineau, interim chief executive officer and chairman of the Shutterfly board of directors, commented: “We are very excited to welcome Chris to the Shutterfly team. His outstanding track record at one of the most successful eCommerce companies in the world makes him an incredible asset to this organization.”
