Drone probably not involved in recent Heathrow incident, says UK Transport Security

UK Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin has told MPs that investigators believe that a drone did not collide with a BA airplane which was coming in to land at Heathrow on 17 April. As previously reported, the plane was struck by an object which the pilot suspected could have been a drone. If the pilot’s supposition had proved correct, this would have been the first collision between a drone and a plane in UK airspace, after a number of near misses.
