Morrisons unveils plans for Amazon Lockers network

Morrisons has announced that it plans to install “hundreds” of Amazon Lockers at its supermarkets this year. Yesterday’s (11 September) announcement builds on an existing relationship between the UK grocer and the online retail giant. In May, Morrisons began to supply grocery items to Amazon customers through the AmazonFresh, Amazon Pantry and Amazon Prime Now delivery services.

The timing of Morrison’s announcement is interesting. Last week, Sainsbury’s revealed plans to launch Click & Collect points in 200 of its supermarkets – and  also confirmed that customers will be able to use these facilities to collect their Argos and eBay online purchases.
