Deutsche Post DHL Group and Russian Post expand cooperation agreement
Deutsche Post DHL Group and Russian Post are expanding their cooperation for international parcel shipments between Germany and Russia. DHL parcels that are destined for Russia will now be handed over in Berlin to Russian Post, which will then transport them to Russia and deliver them to the recipients. While shipments are simplified for Deutsche Post DHL through this agreement, Russian Post can better utilize its network with the growing volumes from Germany.
“Through the expansion of our cooperation with Russian Post, our customers will benefit from even better quality and greater reliability with regard to delivery times,” said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group. “We are thereby meeting the key requirements of the international mail-order business and further enhancing our position as market leader in the high-growth e-commerce segment.”
The General Director of FSUE Russian Post Dmitry Strashnov added: “The cooperation between the Russian Post and Deutsche Post DHL brings the logistics of cross-border trade in Europe to a new level. It reduces the delivery time and the quality of the service for the end consumer.”
In addition to the cooperation on parcel deliveries, the companies are also planning to collaborate on the international shipment of letters and mailed advertising material.
