Royal Mail completes national roll-out of PDAs

Royal Mail has announced that the national roll-out of its new PDAs is now complete, with 68,000 PDAs now in operation at more than 1,900 Collections, Delivery and Processing sites. The postal operator began trialing the PDAs at its Docklands delivery office about a year ago.

In a notice published on the myroyalmail website, Raj Tailor, project manager for PDA transformation, commented: ‘Our biggest challenge was the sheer scale and pace of the rollout. With the help of colleagues, we’ve been able to achieve it successfully.

“Looking ahead, we’re working to enhance the devices so we can improve the services we offer in the parcels market even further.”

In related news, Royal Mail also announced that, from today (27 March), it will be making online delivery confirmation available to customers purchasing parcels at all Post Office branches across the UK.
