Post Denmark slims
The Danish post office, Post Danmark, is aiming to slash its bureaucracy and become more customer focused by simplifying its oeprations into 8 business units.
At the same time the post said the existing 19 postal regions would disappear. Four market oriented business units will concentrate on business customers, private customerss, international post and courier, express and parcels. The restructuring will become effetive from Jan 2003. The remaining 4 business units will be responsible for production tasks in the new organisation. These business units are: distribution; letter production and transport; internal production and service, and Post Danmark IT.
‘A more slim and dynamic organisation is now being built up in order to strengthen our competitiveness. Our management will have more strength and power enabling it ti implement changes more quickly. Overall, this gives us the means to focus more strongly on our customers and our market,‘ said Helge Israelsen, CEO. ‘Our customers will not experience any substantial difference in their daily contact with our company. On the other hand, it is my hope that in future they will experience an improved service,‘ he added.
