Judge schedules DHL Airways pre-hearing

The administrative law judge overseeing the controversial DHL Airways citizenship case has scheduled a pre-hearing conference for May 27. (5/19/2003)

Ronnie L. Yoder, the Department of Transportation’s chief administrative law judge, has to issue a recommended decision by Oct. 31.

The case centres on complaints by FedEx Corp. and United Parcel Service that DHL Airways is controlled by Deutsche Post World Net, a German company, and thus does not meet U.S. ownership requirements.

Other key dates in the case include July 18, the deadline for completing discovery, and Aug. 19, the date of the actual hearing.
