The Delivery Group 2016 results

The Delivery Group’s finalised results for 2016 show that the company increased its turnover by 24% to £153m, but it made a loss after taxation, amorisation and exceptional interest costs were taken into account. In the report, which was made available on the UK Companies House website yesterday (21 September), The Delivery Group said that the loss for the year amounted to £2,497,000, compared to a profit of £264,000 in 2105.

However, the company added: “Included in the loss for the year were exceptional interest costs of £1,159,000 (2015 – £Nil) in relation to the refinancing of the group’s funding facilities and amortisation costs of the group’s intangible assets of £2,119,000 (2105 – £1,043,000). Excluding these costs, the underlying profit before taxation, amortisation and exceptional interest amounted to £781,000 (2015 – £1,307,000).”

Regarding its prospects moving forward, The Delivery Group commented: “The significant growth in e-commerce transactions both in the UK and overseas, a strengthening economic environment, the balance sheet acquisition of P2P Mailing Limited and the investment made in reducing the operating cost base means that the group remains in a strong competitive position to provide a customer-focused added value and innovative proposition in the future.”

The Delivery Group also emphasized that it “continues to invest significantly in its fully automated solutions ensuring that it is in a strong competitive position in both the UK domestic market and international ecommerce distribution market”.
