Aus-tonomous deliveries

Aus-tonomous deliveries

Australia Post is reportedly set to run a test using autonomous parcel delivery machines in Brisbane next month. According to a report on the Courier Mail website, the company will start a four-week trial from 13 November.

Although the robot will be navigating its own way along the pavement of the New Far district, it will accompanied by an Australia Post employee.

The robot will be carrying just one parcel at a time, and delivering between 6pm and midnight.

“The small scale trial will explore if there is customer demand to receive after hours deliveries via a mobile parcel locker,” an Australia Post spokesperson was quoted as saying.
