Sorting overhaul for French La Poste

French post office, La Poste, has unveiled plans to invest €3.4bn over the next six years in a programme to restructure its mail-processing activities. The scheme includes the investment of hundreds of millions of euros in automating the procedure. To that end, La Poste has already ordered a total of 100 new sorting machines which can process more than 40,000 letters per hour, compared with 35,000-38,000 letters with existing equipment.
