Parcelforce Worldwide is launching its first above the line advertising campaign for six years following a major restructure of the business that has firmly positioned it as one of the UK’s leading express delivery companies.

The four week GBP1 million campaign, which launches on 17 March, focuses on national press and national and regional radio stations. Spanish Seur Posts 455.85 Mln Euro Turnover for 2002

Spanish express courier group Seur posted a 455.85 mln euro ($503 mln) turnover for 2002, up 6.2 pct year-on-year, Seur said on March 11, 2003.

Seur targets an over 8.0 pct year-on-year rise in turnover for 2003. Seur staff rose by 4.6 pct year-on-year to 7,773 in 2002. Seur operated with 3,887 vehicles in 2002, a 4.7 pct year-on-year increase. Seur introduced an express delivery service for frozen products in the middle of September 2002.

Parcel and courier firms may request North American Free Trade Agreement panel if transport law is approved

If the new Federal Transport Law (FLT) is approved foreign parcel services and courier firms could request that the government set up a controversy-resolution panel under the framework of the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta), acknowledged the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies Transport Commission, Eugenio Orestes Pérez Cruz. This was confirmed by Ernesto Romero president of the National Association of Courier Companies, which includes Fedex, UPS and DHL.Orestes Pérez Cruz said that foreign companies felt that they were affected by certain elements of the new transport bill.

Over the past nine months Parcelforce Worldwide has reinvented itself as a time-guaranteed, express only delivery company and ended its role in the non-guaranteed three to five day delivery market. Its association with slower delivery services had previously made it difficult to build its reputation and image as a high quality express parcel company.
