Deutsche Post in talks with magazine trade

Deutsche Post is in talks to scoop a major delivery contract from under tile nose of Consignia, the company that runs the Royal Mail.
Officials from the German group are working to seal a long-term con tract with the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) to deliver up to 700 million magazines a year on behalf of the magazine trade budvs members. The contract is equivalent to about 4 percent of Consignia’s business.

Deutsche Post to take legal action against fraud allegations

Deutsche Post, the partly privatised German postal authority, said Tuesday it would take legal action against anyone who claims the company wrongly charged some of its customers value-added tax for some of its services, but failed to pass on the VAT to the tax authorities.
In a press conference here, Deutsche Post chairman Klaus Zumwinkel insisted that group made its sale tax payments in line with “current German and European law.”
