The Pallet Network is set to open up its share holding to network member companies. Chairman Richard Eldred is canvassing views among 70-strong network membership and from firms that are considering joining.
The member-owned model is seen to have worked well at Palletline and at PalletForce. Indeed, PalletForce is setting the pace among the middle-ranking pallet networks. And some TPN members of the APC parcels firm.
The union for United Parcel Service Inc said more than 99% of its members have voted to give the authority to call a strike to the union’s five-pilot executive board. Of the 2,462 eligible crewmembers, 2,371 pilots participated in the strike vote, the Independent Pilots Association said in a press release Thursday. Of those who voted, 99% participated in favor of a strike.

Minister for Communication Shahmim Siddique on Tuesday said another 10,000 post offices throughout the country are likely to collect utility bills’ dues. Speaking in a PTV programme, he said negotiation in this regards are in progress which would hopefully be finalised soon. He said presently about 2500 post offices across the country are offering such a facility to the people. The minister said it is also under consideration to facilitate passport office in issuing passport.
He explained that the post offices’ duty will be to collect data from the person who wanted to acquire a passport and then send it to the passport office for further action. To a question he said the ministry has also offered such a facility to Nadra.

Strasser, Jr., that mail volume in the 2nd Quarter showed a gain of 600 million pieces, to 52.1 billion, and a USD17 million increase in revenue.
