Postmen to have beat codes for fast delivery of letters

The Postal department has introduced a postman beat code along with the pin code for fast delivery of letters and parcels. The new service was introduced all over the country a few months ago.

Haryana Postal Services Director Manisha Bansal Badal said, “The scheme was introduced in Haryana in March and has helped a lot in delivering letters and parcels in time.”

The scheme was introduced in the city last week. Badal, who has served as Senior Superintendent of Post Offices in Ludhiana, said, “Any one who is posting a letter is supposed to write the pincode and the postman beat code of the area where the letter is being sent. This will help in delivering the letter to its destination soon. While sorting out the letters, the postal employees will just read the postman beat code of the city and put that letter in his tray. This way the time, which the postal employees used to take earlier for reading the whole address, is saved.”

The city has 14 delivery offices of the Postal department from where about 300 postmen collect the postal articles for delivery every day. So there will be about 300 postman beat codes.

New DHL Express Center offers greater convenience

DHL will on 1 July inaugurate a new package drop-off center in central Nagoya – the DHL Sakae Express Center.

The new drop-off center will enhance convenience for customers in the city center, complementing DHL’s standard shipment pick-up services.

DHL established the new Express Center in PRESS-TALK’s Fushimi branch, under a business entrustment agreement with Digital Printing Studio, Inc. (shop name; PRESS-TALK) a specialist in on-demand and small-lot printing that supports SOHO users, advertising agencies and production companies, by offering a wide range of services from data management and design to printing and binding. The DHL Sakae Express Center will accept documents and packages dropped off at the facility by DHL account holders.

Notably, the new Express Center offers the DHL Simple Pack service, an easy-to-use service featuring a simplified fee structure. The popular service offers dedicated envelopes and boxes, the shipment fees for which are not calculated according to weight but according to destination zone (Asia Pacific, America, or Europe / other regions).
These fixed fees are not subject to adjustments based on monthly rate fluctuations in jet fuel surcharges.

DHL currently operates 10 Service Centers (sales, delivery and collection centers) in the Chubu (Central Japan) region, but decided to establish a new Express Center to further enhance its services to customers in the Nagoya area.

FedEx Celebrates Domestic Service One-Year Anniversary

As part of the one-year anniversary of its domestic service launch in China, FedEx Express (FedEx) announced its latest domestic service enhancements in China.

FedEx domestic service now offers an earlier next-morning delivery to nine major cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Kunshan, Wuxi, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Ningbo. Packages will now reach their destination by 10:30 a.m., Monday – Saturday, all with the FedEx money-back guarantee.

Customers within the Yangtze River Delta (Shanghai, Suzhou, Kunshan, Wuxi, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo) and the Pearl River Delta (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Foshan, Zhuhai, Huizhou and Jiangmen) will be offered later cut-off times for intra-region shipments. The cut-off time in those cities will be extended to 9 p.m.

Since FedEx began domestic time-definite service in China last year, it has continued to invest in local infrastructure and expand its services and coverage. Through its domestic hub at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and the partnership with Okay Airways, FedEx successfully introduced its unique hub-and-spoke system to China. After one year of operation, the next-morning delivery service has expanded from 19 cities to more than 40 cities, while the second-day delivery service reaches customers in more than 200 cities throughout the country.

To keep pace with China’s rapidly changing market, FedEx has constantly upgraded its domestic services in China. Last September, a string of service enhancements were introduced, and last December, FedEx equipped the domestic service couriers in 20 cities with the latest GPRS Trackers, which provide real-time information about the location and status of customer’s packages.
