Ford chooses logistic partners

ALL (America Latina Logistica-Delara) and TNT Logistics were chosen by the Brazilian subsidiary of Ford to perform the transfer of parts and components destinated for the company’ new car, to be produced in the Camacari-based plant (Bahia). The operation will involve 140 trucks – 70 from ALL-Delara and 70 from TNT, who hired Transportadora Itapemirim to perform the task.

BMW Group is using integrated service provision from Securicor Omega Container Logistics (SOCL) and Danzas AEI Intercontinental to move engines for the Mini car model from a plant in Brazil to its Oxford production facility.

TNT Logistics win contract to handle car parts for GM plants in Brazil

The division of the Dutch-based TNT Post Group, which supplants Ryder of Miami, Florida in managing the supply chain of Brazil’s third-largest car manufacturer, expects the deal to add $2.5 million to its annual revenue, company executives said.
General Motors, which makes cars and trucks at two different locations in the state of Sao Paulo, will account for 20% of TNT’s local business. TNT’s local sales amounted to 200 Brazilian reels ($90 million) last year, up 64% in local currency terms. The subsidiary has forecast 15% growth in 2002.
